Is it really free?
Yes, and there is no signup. Limits keep it that way: 100 MB and 120 minutes per file.
What happens to my file?
It is deleted as soon as the transcript is ready. The transcript itself is deleted after 24 hours. We do not require an account, so there is nothing to tie either to you.
How accurate are the speaker labels?
Good on clear recordings with distinct voices, provided you tell us how many people are talking — which is why we ask rather than guess. Working it out automatically is unreliable enough that we do not offer it: on an ordinary call it invents dozens of speakers. If you are unsure, guess high; too many costs nothing, too few collapses everyone into one speaker. Short interjections are the hardest case and sometimes land on the wrong person. Once the transcript is ready you can put real names to each voice, and they carry into the files you download.
Which formats can I upload?
Most audio and video: mp3, m4a, wav, ogg, opus, flac, mp4, mov, mkv, webm and more. Video is accepted — we only read the audio track.
